Our squirrels are always raiding each other’s stashes. The red squirrel, with her tiny self, is always chasing the bigger grey squirrels and fox squirrels from tree to tree away from her stash. I’ve watched her chase birds, too.
The average squirrel forgets the location of something like 75% of the nuts they bury, so leasing a permanent storage facility for the winter is a good way to stay ahead of your contemporaries when spring comes around.
