I used to work at a department store, and the staff would often buy something there to eat for lunch or on their breaks. The store gave us a 10% discount of everything… except food.
My recently deceased wife worked where they charged “more” to the employees than the customers, because they would match sale prices for customers but not employees. Then wonder why the employees went elsewhere sometimes both to buy and work. Have said sadly many times that employers “only use you till they lose you”.

Well, I worked for a major Grocery Store chain years ago. We got a 5% off coupon attached to our checks we got to use once. Whoopdeedooo!
