Luckily, the dog is always ready and willing to jump in. Or up. Too bad it’s a golden retriever.

So why are you doing it then?

How about if we just remove that chunk of kitty litter from under your tail? Would that help?

Some people think cats are always cute – or still cute when they are coughing up hairballs, throwing up food, and/or scratching up the furniture.

What cats say when they’ve been fed, recently. A nap in a sunny patch will go a long way in curing it.

Reminds me of a “cute” story: Our 5 year old daughter (at the time) dressed up for trick-or-treating. She went to great efforts to look scary. Whenever people opened the door when she rang the doorbell, the first reaction was typically “oh, you’re so cute!”.

Our daughter was so frustrated by that. She wanted to be scary. At one point she stomped away with a similar expression on her face like that of the cat in this cartoon, saying, “I am not cute!”

I tried to reassure her, but inside I was thinking, “But you are so cute!”.

I know just how the cat feels – nothing better than a grumpy day.

The Mrs bought a sleep shirt during a visit to Disneyland many years ago. It has a graphic of Grumpy on it and reads “Sometimes I wake up Grumpy. Sometimes I let him sleep in.”

I feed a “visiting” cat. On a good day, you can give him one long pat down his back. However, if he’s having a bad day (like cold rain outside) and his tail is twitching, don’t even think about it.

Poor kitty. Go find a sunbeam and recharge.
