yorky will really help them appreciate you Fred. As someone who libr with Terriers, i can tell you the saying is true, “you can always tell a Terrier but you can’t tell them much!”
Guests are like clothing – sooner or later, they both start to wear a bit thin. That high-pitched yipping would drive me up the wall very quickly.
Our German Shepherd almost never barked, but he always made his needs known. We taught him to ring a small bell when he wanted to go outside; to come back in, he simply pawed at the front storm door … granted, with his paws, that was more like pounding on it (he broke a storm window once…). When he wanted his supper, he would pick up one of his stainless steel bowls and drop it on the kitchen floor.
