Our cat came upstairs to greet me this morning, and in running back down to the main floor turned about two steps too soon, rolled sideways down the last two stairs and landed on her feet. So, yes, I too am a believer.
It’s always amazes me how many animals (and insects) can jump or fall many times their height and just walk away from it, whereas we humans would be dead or badly injured. I wonder just how high does a cat or squirrel or whatever have to be before it finally goes splat.
In the 18th century a French ballonist, not a Montgolfier, actually tossed cats out of a balloon to see if they landed on their feet. It resulted in dead cats. :(
