The real take away is that Pluggers still prefer typewriters….

Pluggers don’t write novels. Maybe articles for Reader’s Digest.

Want something attention-grabbing? Malcolm Lowry (UNDER THE VOLCANO) wrote a story for a Cambridge student magazine that began, “The first murder I ever committed was in a windmill…”

Maybe you should try something new and unconventional. There’s still no book starting with the words “It was a bright, right day for picking your nose”. Oooh, the possibilities this opening offers…

Suddenly a shot rang out. I can’t remember it, but Snoopy wrote a great paragraph.

I guess I’m not that bad. I can usually get to “There was a clap of thunder.”

I have the first line and some dialogue, a bunch of characters and some great action scenes

There is some plot and a possible ending

What I dont have is as much as one word written down or stored electronically, it’s all in my head

I put the partial second novel in the trunk with the first when I realized that my favorite writers were still working their day jobs. But i didn’t copy Snoopy…

And not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. See Vol 2 for ending.

Nah, for me I always wanted something after…’He was an old man who fished alone in a skiff in the Gulf Stream and he had gone eighty-four days now without taking a fish. ’

    Beginning: Once upon a time…

    Middle: Stuff happens!

End: They all got run over by a truck.

    Epilogue: …happily ever after.

I was surprised when I walked into the livingroom and saw my son calmly sitting in front of the fire. Then I remembered we didn’t have a fireplace.

I’ve been working on my “History of Procrastination” for some time now. So far, I’ve written the bio for the rear book cover flap and three of the reviews. :)

The blank sheet. The strong coffee. The idea you have for a story. The Top Ten Best Seller in the US and seven other countries. The people you went to school with who believed you would never amount to anything.

Still working on my app, which may take a book to explain it at the rate it’s going.

Every time I go to simplify, I keep adding more stuff.
