The few times I threw a snowball into the snow for my dogs, they went to where it landed, looked at, and then looked at me, seeming to say: “Now how do you expect me to fetch that?”
Not our Goldie-Lab!!! He’d gallumph after that snowball & root around & around & AROUND, then, if it hadn’t disintegrated, he’d pick it up & bring it back & shake the snow off himself & all over us. He had the soft mouth of a Goldie & I probably could’ve done the old “give him an egg to hold” & it wouldn’t have broken…miss you, Jean-Luc!!!

My husky mix LOVED that game. He was awful at fetch so the disappearance didn’t matter, he just loved the chase and snow.

Same here with my two Golden Retrievers However after the third time they basicallytheir looks told me if I wanted it, I go fetch it!
