Many people do not value what they get for free. They believe that the more you pay the more something is worth.

If they have cable, watching it is not free!

I was more excited to watch something when it was after making a trip to town, and as part of a community experience.

I haven’t been in a movie theatre for a long time.

It does. You have to pay every month, with nothing good to watch, just for the off chance to get the movie you want once in a while. You’re paying for the movie ticket, in installments, and a LOT more expensive.

Did Betty enjoy the movie, you know that warm fuzzy feeling you get when you’ve seen a quality movie?

I bought the DVD of Knives Out, but it turned out to be a region 2 that I couldn’t play. Then it was on a cable station xmas eve. With commercials, 3 hours.

The exact opposite of how I feel about free movies.

There are lots of movies that are enjoyable enough to watch at home (without commercials) but I’d feel ripped off if I’d paid $20+ for two tickets to see in a theater. “Don’t Look Up”, which I watched on Netflix last night, is a good example.

Cable ain’t free! How many movies could you see in the theater every month for the price of Cable?

Not me. Prices got too high, and too many of the offerings weren’t worth the bother.
