Plumbing, whether water or gas, and electrical are things you cannot afford to screw up. Pay the man.

I do some of the plumbing, electrical, etc. Replacing the “instant” hot water tank in the kitchen was a real trial, just because it was so cramped. Had pros replace the water heater. It’s a continuous flow unit, weighs 80+ lbs, hangs on the wall, and the venting was tricky. The plumbers had a box with over 20 fittings, so they could match up the old/new air intake and exhaust. A tank I could have handled. Replacing the commode in the master bath was an “adventure”, because it is in a very narrow compartment and lining up the bolts and holes was not fun.

I can handle almost everything including water supply piping, but the drains always challenge me. Eventually I get there.

Drain traps are usually easy because they’re not under pressure. Any expert can screw it up.

Well, there’s your problem. Your trap knuckle is in the wrong place. You need to go to Menards.

Looks like a sink drain pipe needs replacement. Call the plumber and have it done with. But it will probably not be until Friday. Have to have a story arc.

The guy I bought my house from told me, “Moisture is the enemy of the homeowner”, and that is the truest thing ever said.

That is why I have a Home warranty plan. A washer that would not start turned into major surgery on the house electrical service. An “OH MY GHOD HOW MUCH??” job cost $75.

Electrical wiring I’m good at. Plumbing, if simple, I will do, complicated plumbing and gas are strictly for the professionals.
