You could carry that too far though, and end up with a spoiled brat!

She’ll more likely learn Mommy and Daddy will bail her out every time she screws up

To teach or not to teach…a teachable moment?

I can see both sides of the argument here, but yeah, I think Len’s got the better point.

“Teachable Moments” are, quite often, harder on the “teacher” than they are on the “teachee”. Which doesn’t alter the fact that they are needed.

Always remember that the difference between “spoiled brat” and “loving child” is often a very small one.

Tough love is needed at times. If you continue to bail them out, they’ll continue to screw up because they know you’ll bail them out continuously. They need to learn there are consequences to actions.

Sometimes we need to be sad, so we can learn to be happy.
