Darn. That reminds me. I let another weekend go by without a fire in the fireplace. That stack of firewood on my patio is so seasoned it will probably ignite with just one match and no kindling.
On the evening of January 1, 2000, I watched the New Year’s Eve ball drop in Times Square. I had to record it because I got Y2K duty early that morning.
It’s still a fire (maybe the music is Christmas) & it’s cold in January. Watching the fire may warm her up just by the suggestion ( & keep the heating bill down?).
Hey, in the words of the immortal Nora Krank, “It’s us women who are on the front lines of Christmas!”. Let June finally enjoy some peace and quiet after the holiday hubbub . . . and if that means watching the recorded Yule log, so be it.
And here i thought i was behind in watching my recordings… I’ won’t hit my Christmas recordings until July or thereabouts as I’m currently watching the stuff i recorded last August. Should hit the Halloween horror movies around mid-February.
I have a wood burning stove fireplace insert with a big window in its door. It plays well any time it is cold outside. It is best when it’s watched local and live.
Hell I know what that like, my wife loves Hallmark Xmas shows. Records them by the dozen. She got the upstairs tv and I have my man’s cave in the basement.

Dude, you married a woman who makes every month about Christmas. You think it’s bad now, wait until Valentine’s Day…

She must be cold. (Here, it will be low 60s and a chance of rain, but we may also/or have virga.)

I don’t get video yule logs. My house growing up didn’t have a fireplace, so maybe the romance is lost on me.
