She misheard them, it’s mouse, but with a stereotypical Kitchener accent.

I tried moose once, in Oslo, Norway. It was on the menu, so I asked for it. The waiter smiled and brought it out. I took one bite and he looked at me and said, "tastes like sh#t, no?

I said yes, and he pulled another plate out from behind his back and served that, “Thank God”

I didn’t even mind that he charged me for both plates.

They give out something like 10,000 moose licenses a year for hunting, but only a thousand or so are taken. Turns out you can hunt them, but you MUST eat what you hunt. Hence few people take a license.

Canada: Where Moosehead isn’t just a beer, it’s a misdemeanor.

My brother hunts moose. It makes good summer sausage.

Elk is farmed, so I imagine moose could be. Or just build an primary school on the prairies and lay in wait for one to show up.

I like the movie Hard Target. Hunters hunt “the most dangerous game”, then get taken down themselves by the Belgian hero.

Actually meesemoot, er, moose meat, is good. Tastes like regular beef. And you can hunt it in the States, too, not just Canada. We’ve had moose on our place here.

I know it is a comic strip, but I find it hard to believe Bub wouldn’t have tried Moose before given his interests and where he lives. Now if it had been horse meat, I would have understood it being new to him. Horse is tasty, by the way, but I’ve only been able to order it in a few upscale restaurants in Toronto and Montreal.
