Fortunately, I find a good couple of hours overlap between my cat Colette’s “cat stuff” and my “people stuff”. Mostly, we go out walking. Walking with a cat is not like walking a dog. My neighborhood is quiet when we go walking on the cul-de-sac. I do most of the walking; that’s the deal. Sometimes she tags along. Other times she plays “roadblock to be petted”. Sometimes she takes the lead or she might have to switch to “working mode”, when some prey catches her ear. I get a chance to walk a few laps a little faster.
It requires patience, a quiet street (before sunrise is good) and a cat who is into it. She has a cat flap. So, it’s a bit flattering that she likes to hang out with me on walks. She will actually interrupt eating for an an opportunity to go out with me. Don’t tell me cats aren’t fond of their people. :)

MOL – I use it to schedule stuff I never get around to doing. Sigh.
