Dana Summers, like most conservatives, hates context as much as he hates history!

He also said he was picking the most qualified person he could find. Is it really a big surprise that judge that is also a black woman would fit that bill. No it would not.

The Supreme Court needs more diversity, not less. It certainly needs fewer religious nuts and sexual predators to be sure.

If I posted an opening in my business and said I would only hire a white person I’d be arrested, as that is clearly against the law. Your impeachment is coming Joe.

Summers is right; white men have always been discriminated against and now there are not enough of them on the Court.

He made this mistake once before, when he announced that he’s picking a woman for VP. It’s kind of insulting. He should announce he’s going to pick the best person and then when (if) he announces a Black woman, the public knows he chose the best qualified. This says “I may pass dozens of well-qualified people by, but she’s the best in my parameters.”

Caveat: I remember when Bush Sr announced Thomas was the most qualified person to sit on the court. We knew he was picking an (a) unqualified (b) idiot, just because he was the only Black conservative the Federalist Society could recommend.

All things being equal, is there any reason not to have a black woman’s viewpoint on the high court?

If reviewing and deliberating on the rule of law requires total objectivity, then color or gender should not matter. Biden is just pandering to black voter, rather than being just for all voters.

Hey, SCOTUS nominees were always selected by race—White men. But Republicans are particularly known for selecting by race and gender.

Thomas was selected to replace Thurgood Marshall because he was Black. O’Connor was selected because she was a woman, as was Barrett. Scalia was selected because he was Italian American. Harriet Miers because she was Bush’s cleaning lady.

So put down the pen; you look like a hypocrite.
