No comas de lo que pica el pollo, as a Cuban born coworker used to say.

Chicken has a pleasant flavor – though I’m not entirely convinced the cartoon chicken has a viable plan – in order to be distasteful, the chicken must first be killed and cooked!

I do know that some things taste better when their diet is unsupervised – wild-caught catfish, for instance.

Farley Mowatt, in his book, “The Dog Who Wouldn’t Be”, spoke of a Canadian farmer who raised his hogs on fish from a nearby lake. While they grew to enormous size, the farmer had to sell them out-of-province because their pork tasted of fish.

Free-range chicken always tastes better, to me, not because of WHAT they eat, but of HOW they’re treated.

And, yes, I have the choice of free-range or caged at the meat market I frequent – I’m even given the choice of grain-fed or corn-fed, and yes there is a difference – visually. Corn-fed chicken has an orangish tint to its skin – reminds me a bit of Trump, actually.

I guess, this could explain why the chicken crossed the road… to get to the garbage can?
