Due to an earlier remodel one of the rooms in our house does not get much heat/cooling from the main heat pump, so after the 116F last summer, we decided to add a mini-split: mini as in $12,600, crazy efficient though. But, it’s half the capacity of the main system and there’s a second head in the garage for freeze protection. I don’t know how old the main pump is, but now we have a place we can retreat to if it fails.

Ah, another summer in British Columbia…
