Almost surprised that he didn’t find a carving of Jonah was here on the side of it. BTW there was a documented case of a whale in the 1870s that was harpooned and when they carved it up, a live man emerged from it’s stomach. He had been there several days. Ya can’t make this stuff up.
I remember encountering that story while I was studying the book of Jonah. It seems that God did something miraculous to keep Jonah alive in there—not that that’s hard for Him. The great fish in question, by the way, may have been a whale shark, which is a gentle giant. Not as big as actual whales, of course, but most or all of them have quite small throats. The lobsterman last year was just in the whale’s mouth, and it spit him out after a minute.
