All those pets mentioned have pretty sort lifespans, anyway. Even cockroaches only live about a year and a half, although the Madagascar hissing cockroach can live up to five years.
However, with proper care, most turtles and tortoises can live for decades.
As I recall, the tadpoles and the butterfly died because they were eaten by a cat and bird, respectively. I don’t remember what happened to the cockroach and hamster.
