Remember, this is Trump’s mentor. Putin (and Trump) like chaos and disruption and instability. They’ll do anything to create it because that’s where they profit.
If Russia invades Ukraine, then a lot of American billionaires will lose their Russian investments. Too bad, that. Probably get a Republican Congress to reimburse those loses. That’s how it works.
Although every international expert I’ve heard—including prominent Republicans—give Biden high marks in the current crisis, conservative voices here seem to long for yet another war in which they can watch other people’s sons and daughters die.
When living under the same roof, my sister used to warn me to not put one toe over the line (to her bedroom) and of course I’d put one toe over it. A fight would ensue until the head of the household (mom) would end it.
I wish the mainstream media would quit yelling so loud about how Biden got cash from a Russian operative for lobbying Congress post-election not to sanction Nordstream II. Just kidding. They’re not really yelling. In fact, they’re completely silent. https://nypost.com/2021/05/29/biden-got-cash-from-russia-lobbyist-before-nord-stream-2-giveaway/
When they invade Ukraine, the hammer blow of sanctions against Russia will hit Putin and his inner circle hard. The collateral damage will include many US businesses and wealthy Americans. These entities combined have roughly 12.5 Billion in assets invested in Russia.*
It will come as no surprise that many of the people who will lose money are staunchly conservative and secretive about their investments. They don’t care about Ukraine; what they care about is their bottom line. Therefore, backing President Biden is out of the question, and undermining his policy of making Russia pay for its aggression must be stopped. In steps the right-wing media to do the bidding of these American Oligarchs.**
Fox, Newsmax, and other Maga media outlets try to spin this as Ukraine’s fault and that Russia has to respond, all the while knowing that the truth involves money and personal wealth, with a penchant for the love of Authoritarianism thrown in for good measure. The marching orders filter down to the grass-root trolls on message boards like this.
However, I trust in the 95% of those who monitor and follow world events and keep their own counsel (i.e., the silent majority) to do their own research on legitimate new sites and come to their own conclusion. The naked aggression of Russia must not go unpunished, and President Biden is doing a good job responding without risking American lives.
Amazing how many people are absolutely certain about the future. I guess it’s easier when you limit your knowledge of the situation to opinions of people who think the exact same way you do.
Mr. Ramirez has given us a nice summation of where the present situation is. Best wishes to the Ukraine. We will see how things play out. Hopefully, pressure from NATO, Ukraine and the USA will get Putin to back down…….. Hopefully. The nuke threats that Putin is tossing around have the potential to bring us to a really serious missile exchange.
Ukraine’s President Zelensky rightly complained that if the West is so sure that Putin will attack his country, why not institute those dreaded sanctions on Russia immediately? Unfortunately, I believe that doing so could make Putin decide “what the hell, they aren’t so bad after all” and then just go ahead with his military invasion plans. I hope his army gets bogged down worse than in Afghanistan in the 1980s.
If only Biden cared as much about our border like he does Ukraine’s. BTW he wants to help protect Ukraine. After all, they gave his crack head son a job that paid $1,000,000 a year with no experience.

Rand Paul is going to block support for Ukraine and Faux News is rooting for Putin. 1/6 was only a taste of the traitorous behavior.

Republicans are claiming that all the Russian tanks are “fake”, made up of cardboard, duct tape and “spit”.

Funny, most of the other Republicans are supporting Putin in his invasion plans.

Does Trump still get his 6% real estate commission on Ukraine now that he’s out of office?

This toon reminds me what my brother and I would do with each other and get yelled at, and it’s still annoying, especially with a tank.
