    Nice way to handle it young lady. I would have to add something like, “If by that you mean making great strides in our society forward in art, science, politics, literature, and so many others, then yes we are!”

    As a black woman who has been around for a while, I know that “All Black People” are not all the same, as “all people” of any color or ethnic group are not the same. We are all individuals with unique backgrounds and points of view. We cannot be stereotyped into any one specific group.

    I made a comment some time back about stereotyping back in the sixties, and how we fought it then. Someone commented back that the word has lost its meaning or power since then. I replied back that today we call it profiling… and we need to fight it now just at much, no matter who does it. We are people, not colors, and the great thing about America is that we are a stewpot of cultures, somewhat blended, but with each culture still adding its uniqueness to the whole.
