He does seem to be a stand-up guy. And has been a comedian. So you would expect him to be able to come up with quips like this. I liked it the first time I heard it and still do. By the way, his wife is also staying there “at his side”.
Right up there with Churchills " We will fight on the beaches…" quote. Bless every Ukrainian standing up to the invaders. It sure makes me respect Americas 2nd Amendment even more if that’s even possible.
As an example of the kind of guy is President Zelensky, after he assumed office he sent a really cute picture of himself and family to all the other PM and government office holders in his administration with the following note. “Presidents and politicians are not gods or idols. Do not put pictures of me in your offices. Rather, put pictures of your family up and look at them when you have to make a political decision or vote,”. That may be a paraphrase. I’ll try to find a link.
In the spirit of detente I’m thanking Chip for standing up, no snide remarks or backhanded compliments, just celebrating a real hero who has stepped up. Same for Rosie, …being the eternal optimist I’d like to see some good come from this, we’re all in this together, let’s make it better, not worse.
