Iā€™m surprised Wilberforce didnā€™t ask why rats are being put in a vegetable stew.

Just tell Wilburforce that potatoes are vegetables. Thatā€™ll change his mind.

There goes his appetite and mine. I like stew but itā€™s got to have beef and or lamb.

Ratatoville? Is that a misspelling of Rat a too vile? I think Iā€™d pass on a stew that has the words vile and rats in it.

With a name like Ratatouille youā€™d think thereā€™d be some kind of meat in it.

Their kitchen looks a lot like my doctorā€™s office. The only thing missing is the snap of a surgical glove.

I made ratatouille last month, just because. It was okay. Basically roasted vegetables with marinara sauce.

Did the kid inherit his fatherā€™s nickname ā€œBorn Loser Jr.ā€?

This may inspire Wilberforce to learn to cook. Or to make enough to eat out when he wants. Avoid (one of) Dadā€™s mistakes.

Hope Brutus did not try that all you can eat Diner dump againā€¦ Shrimp lunch. Gonna be hungry coming home to lap up veggie soup dinner. Whereā€™s the BEEF? I am with Wilberforce. Grandpa said ā€“ if you canā€™t make a sandwich (biscuits/cornbread/flour bread back then) with leftovers ā€“ you didnā€™t eat nothing. My wife still makes up biscuits or cornbread or flour bread almost ever day at age 84. I am blessed. Over fed.

Motherā€™s always have recipes that arenā€™t necessarily as good as others. However, since you havenā€™t tried it yet, hold your opinion until after you try it. However, be prepared to eat a lot of bread, butter and salad just in caseā€¦.

In my early years the only way I ate meat or vegetables was via polk salad scrambled with eggs. Protein, vitamins, other goodies from the mix. Doctorā€™s orders. Of course the doctor did not understand reality. Easier to eat and nothing else tasted good.

The only ratatouille Iā€™d look forward to would be the animated film about a rat in the kitchen.
