Sounds familiar. Each time I go into the kitten, the ‘poor starving orphan’ tells me that he hasn’t eaten in days. More like the last time I was in the kitchen.

Cats are like that. Always hungry even if they just ate. They like to make you feel guilty.

Mama, when you find Mittens, artfully draped over his (half-full) bowl of cat food, one (carefully placed) front paw on his forehead in a pose of wan despair as he mutters “Goodbye cruel world,” you’ll be sorry.

Mittens: And this is the 500,000th time this has happened!

Q: if you put your ear up to the chow bowl, do you hear the sounds of the chow?

In this case, Mittens is indulging in “hyper-bowl-y”.
