    I think the predictable ending happened on 1/6/2021. BTW, what Donny Boy is holding in his left hand is probably what he’d be giving Ukraine as weapons against Vladyboy’s invasion.

    Slava Ukraini!

    Republicans HATRED of democracy was never more evident.

    Until 1/6.

    And now.

    We lost Betty White, Norm MacDonald, and Gilbert Gottfried among others since this strip came out, but all of these chuds are still alive. Just wanted to point that out.

    we live in fear (of blackmail, ill health, war, nukes, neighbor w different politics) & despair (death of American exceptionalism, illusions shattered, death porn 24/7 on infotainment channels). hate is the active form of it.

    Sadly, Ruben doesn’t have to make this stuff up. This is, unfortunately, all too true. The so-called Republican Party gave up any pretense of caring about democracy, civility, bi-partisan government, or the American people, many years ago.

    I have to post this again, it seems so appropriate;

    “If the Republicans will stop telling lies about the Democrats, the Democrats will stop telling the truth about the Republicans.” – Adlai Stevenson

    I wonder, though, do the republicans really hate democracy? I don’t believe so. I think the plan is to keep democracy on edge, teetering on the brink but never crashing. This gives them the air of superiority trump displayed with his “only I can fix it” program. They get to be the heroes by constantly fixing the very thing they are constantly breaking. It’s like the arsonist firefighter. If Democracy truly died, they would lose most or all of the political power they currently hold. If that happened, they wouldn’t be able to make the self-serving laws that keep them in power and in money.

    Democrats: “We need 60+ Senators to get things through the Senate!”

    republicans: “Who gives a shit? Don’t like it? Too F@#$!% bad. We have 50 and the VP to break ties, this is getting done whether you like it or not. And chances are, you don’t like it but we don’t give a shit.”

    …and it works for them, that’s all they need to say to justify anything they do, illegal or not. We the people are screwed and don’t even realize it…

    His writing is spot on and hilarious. “Of course there was a quid pro quo… Simultaneously, there was no quid pro quo!”
