Actually, this is the state motto of Texas. Nobody owns the mineral rights under their land. Oil companies have the absolute right to come in and perform exploratory drilling. What do you expect from a state where laws that allow you to be fired without cause are called “Right to Work” laws.

Homesteaders owned the mineral rights to their farm land, the gov’ment has gotten more greedy since then
