Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
I’m kinda with the kitties on this one. I hate to be told to get up. My mother always let me sleep, then she would yell saying " I let you sleep in and now you’re going to be late for school, so hurry……why.
The first thing you need to plant, Annie would be catnip! Lots and lots of catnip. And maybe plant bird seed and see if you can grow some birds (just kidding).
National Goof Off Day. It would be a great day to goof off as the weather forecast calls for rain, rain and more rain. But I can’t goof off. I have to go to work. I did, however get in some goofing off yesterday!
National Ag Day. American agriculture plays a critical economic and food security role in our country. The role of American agriculture is greater than the food on our tables. It runs deep in our communities, large and small. Just about every product we touch involves a farmer. From the clothes on our backs to the fuel in our cars and the medicines we take, agriculture grows our economy and keeps us healthy.
National Bavarian Crepes Day
National Diabetes Association Alert Day
National West Virginia Day
World Water Day. We’ll be getting plenty of water from the sky over the next 3 days if our weather forecast is correct. I wish the same held true for areas suffering severe drought right now (technically, we are having a drought, but I’d give up our 3 days of rain if I could send it to those places where it’s really bad).
We had a high temperature of 75° yesterday. I spent the entire afternoon outside loving it. I hung laundry on the clothesline (fresh sheets on the bed tonight!), I went for a walk, I planted 2 flats of impatiens seeds, I opened a few windows to let fresh air in the house and I loafed around in my lawn swing finishing a book I was reading and I took my laptop outside so I could watch a couple episodes of Password Plus on Prime Video. I saw a few robins and a few mosquitoes. I also let a few of the cats outside into the fenced part of the yard. They loved it and now they’re going to nag me to let them out again in the morning. No way. The warm weather is going away and turning to wet, then cold weather for the next week or so.
From yesterday’s comments, in reply to jessegooddoggy who asked, “Which app do you use? I keep meaning to install one on my iPhone.”
(talking about the pedometer app I use on my phone). The app I use is just called Pedometer & Step Counter. The icon shows a person walking. I tried another pedometer app but it didn’t work very well, so I deleted it. But this one seems to be pretty accurate. I used it once while walking to the post office. I counted my steps from my front door to my post office box (246 steps) and it registered a little over 500 steps. But I didn’t check it right at my front door when I got back from the post office. I walked several more steps before checking it. so it probably was over 500 steps.
Tomato and pepper seeds are in flats and wildflowers have been reseeded. The apricot trees are loaded with pea size babies, and the peaches, plums and cherries are in full bloom and buzzing with bees. Boo hiss – we are going to hit the 80s this weekend but it does cool back into the high 60s. Dreading the relentless summer heat.
It used to be in Spring, my thoughts turned to cleaning up all of the presents that my late loving wife and my dogs left over the Winter. Sadly I no longer have to do that because the 3 we last had all died in 2020 and 2021. I am not missing the job, just the dogs. Before anyone comments, yes I miss my loving wife more than the dogs.
Not being a yard work person, I kinda like Chesney’s idea. I do admire all of you with your gardens and such. My son and daughter each have large gardens and do a lot of canning etc. They didn’t get that gene from me. We haven’t had temps in the 60’s and above for over 5 months now. I’m so ready for summer.
Maybe the Kitties would be more enthusiastic if Annie said she was planting catnip. Got some seed packets for my birthday. Looking forward to planting them in my garden. On another note, saw a chickadee, six juncos, and three robins while out walking today.

The next panel, if there was one, would have Cheezy racing between her feet to where the food drops.

Time to plant! I am going to the nursery tomorrow to get lettuce seeds or starts, depending on what they have.
