The way bitcoin (and related) are “mined” is extremely energy hungry. IMO, there could very well be a law… or a tax… on such calculations. Hard to enforce, though.
The report states that each Bitcoin transaction consumes 1,173-kilowatt hours of electricity. That’s the volume of energy that could “power the typical American home for six weeks,” the authors add. The Bitcoin mining that enables a purchase, sale, or transfer…..uses a slug of electricity that costs $176.
Bitcoin currently consumes around 110 Terawatt Hours per year — 0.55% of global electricity production, or roughly equivalent to the annual energy draw of small countries like Malaysia or Sweden.
Are we capable of self-reflection, or are we amoeba?……………..I mean I understand that patrick murphy, loony squiggles, montana bill, rikitikiDA, klemubermoron, ammosexuallydysfunctional, opspecial ed, JAwholikesbluegrass, jane b thinkin’ VERY ignorantlee, 60 rottenbuzzardbrains adhered to a scorching sidewalk, are amoeba, but can we overcome them?
