Hot plate? The real torture here is the lack of flatware, napkins, and a drink (they’d get no gratuity from me).
No imagination. A creative demon would have told him, “The plate is so hot, it’s going to burn right through the table and fall into your lap.”
I often point out that a comic strip exists in its own universe, which doesn’t necessarily follow the same rules as ours. Makes me happy to know nothing like this miserable place, or the weird guy with the horns and the pitchfork, exists in our universe.
