And yesterday I was thinking, “huh, I wonder why did he ran this today? It would have been clever for Maundy Thursday, still a couple weeks off.”

4/1/22 Gospel speaks of familiarity. You think you know everything about someone….then they surprise you. Jesus’ lesson: familiarity brings contempt and judgementalness.

We once had a full emersion baptism in our pool for three girls ages 7 thought 12. Shortly thereafter, on the other side of the yard, we had a Eucharist celebration using a freshly baked loaf of bread ans our finest wine and the girls made their first communion.

After the ceremony, my wife and I collected the now-consecrated remains of the bread and wine and told the priest that we would consume them with dinner which we did -very much like the original except the meal wasn’t kosher and nobody got hauled off to be crucified afterwards.
