Bigger kids can use it when ever they want.

“important” is one way to look at it, others would use different terms to describe it!

The difference between ‘study hall’ and ‘detention’: In detention, you get to miss something.

He gets attention with detention!

If they would have had detention when I was in school; I would have spent all my time there. Not because I was always in trouble. Because I hated class and would have done something to get out of it. Back then; they just beat your butt and sent you back to class. When I was in the sixth grade; our science teacher threatened to spank anyone that flunked his next test. It just happened that almost everyone flunked. Even the best students. A friend and I volunteered to be first. After our spanking; we were sent to the bathroom to wash our eyes out. I’m not sure why, because neither of us were crying. When we came back; everyone was writing and no one was getting a spanking. The teacher just couldn’t make himself spank the girls, so he made everyone else write some theme paper. Mike and I were the lucky ones.

Why have I got detention? Well, standing on my desk for a start.

If Nerwin went to school with Agnes or Calvin, they’d have to play musical chairs to see which one would get to sit.

But Nerwin is always shown to be a sweet, innocent kid. Not a troublemaker. Maybe a little slow and he may come up with strange answers sometimes, but he is being raised by a witch and a troll, with a buzzard as an uncle – cut the boy a break.
