Aren’t they though?

One of the last Ash trees is living grandly next door. I am going to miss it.

Lost my Ash tree to those beetles several years ago. :(

I believe it’s the caterpillar/maggot-like larvae that do most of the damage/destruction (eating of the ash tree leaves).

And the target of a mighty beetle.

He needs an Ashram.

Why don’t you just go over and kick his ash, Wiz?

Ash Borer looks suspiciously like something the wiz would gin up on a bet.

My grandfather’s estate, covered in pines, had a infestation of Japanese red beetles. We had to cut down all the trees infected plus 50 yards of trees in all directions around the infected area. And, none of the trees could be salvaged since they might have beetle eggs that could be carried to other pine stands in the moving process.

Why do I get the feeling that Wiz had something to do with this?

We lost every ash tree in our community. So sad.

When my late loving wife and I bought our property, it was because of all of the trees. And sadly we found out many of them were ash trees, we lost them all. Now there are other little enemies I have to contend with, soon it will just be an empty yard.

I just Googled it: “Ash trees are special because they can restore natural systems. They readily colonize riparian-close to rivers- areas where their roots help stabilize stream banks, their leaves feed both aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, and their branches provide shade and nesting sites for many animals”.

Those ash borer’s are getting to big when they can eat a whole tree with one bite.

Was that the World Ash? Never thought Ragnarok would come like this…
