He’s been having a VERY bad month or so. Of course, it’s nothing like as bad as what he’s been dumping on Ukraine.

^With regard to the war in Ukraine, we only blame Donald Quixote for calling Putin a “savvy genius” when he invaded.

We don’t blame him for the war, there’s plenty of blame that he rightfully deserves without having to make anything up.

Latest news is that Putin is going to “get even” with Ukraine for “causing Russia to lose”.

I would love to see one of those Missiles take out Putin’s yacht. I read a book once, “Japanese Destroyer Captain: Pearl Harbor, Guadalcanal, Midway – The Great Naval Battles as Seen Through Japanese Eyes”, by Tameichi Hara. Found it in a library, read it, and had a short history of what set up WWII from the Japanese side.

Part of that was Russians were becoming more active in the Pacific, and the Japanese attacked them, even though the Russians had torpedo nets set up, the Japanese were able to get their torpedoes to sink part of the Russian fleet.

Russia responded by, sending its main fleet from the Atlantic to attack Japan and prepare for an invasion. The Russian Admiral called the Japanese Monkeys. Well short story, Japan kicked Russia behind. Yeah, Russia never has been much of a Navel power.

Another reason that Russia’s Fleet is so bad they need a large Army if China ever comes up North. Yeah I know right now they are on the same side. China wants Russia’s Siberian Natural Resources.

From a military POV, this is fascinating. Moscva was their premier Command and Control ship in the Black Sea. It was loaded with electronic equipment, multiple RADAR systems, Electronic Warfare systems, SAMS, Point Defense, CWAR etc. Supposedly it would have the best and most highly trained troops manning it. It’s defense systems should have been on automatic control, especially in a war zone. The personnel manning the RADAR and EW systems should have detected those missiles. Yet, two subsonic Neptune missiles made in Ukraine, not other more sophisticated missile from other countries, managed to penetrate their defense and ultimately sink the Moscva with massive deaths and casualties. WTF? Russia is looking more and more like a paper bear. The only thing their armed forces are good at is killing civilians, which if you look at their history, is exactly their military doctrine. It is becoming apparent that their armed forces are unprepared, untrained and unequipped to confront a modern well trained military opponent. Hell, they got their butts kicked by third world, illiterate Afghanistan warlords with the help of Sister Stinger. At this rate, If Putin lights off a nuke, chances are the Ukrainians are going to have to defuse an unexploded nuclear warhead.

Some authorities has suggested that if Putin suffers enough loses, he might resort to using his tactical nukes. If so, what would be our response? Would using our tactical nukes be considered defensive?

Regarding Putin going nuclear. In my opinion, mine only, I think it unlikely. Hiroshima and Nagasaki burned into humankind the awful capabilities of these weapons to the extent that they have not been used for 77 years now. Putin thinks he’s a hero in trying to conquer Ukraine, fighting NAZIs and defending Russian Ukrainians from bigotry and genocide. At least that’s the justification he’s using even though the rest of the world doesn’t believe it. He can sell that to the Russian people and perhaps he even believes it to some extent. But he can’t justify the use of nukes by any stretch on foreign soil. Perhaps if Ukrainian forces managed to invade Russia he could justify using a tactical nuke on his own soil.

Let’s take an all out full scale ICBM attack off the table and stick to tactical weapons. So Putin gives the order for a nuclear hit, probably limited to one weapon, to his closest General, who relays it to what ever local battlefield commander, who passes it to the launch team. That’s the minimum levels such an order has to go through and in reality there are probably several more. Each step gives a chance for, delay, ‘garbled transmission’, getting sent back for confirmation or outright disobedience and refusal to launch. We already know that the Russian military isn’t happy with Putin and their forces are rife with desertion and refusal to fight. Would he risk giving such an order knowing it had a good chance of being refused at some point? Lot of variables to Putin going nuclear.

Russia has vowed retaliation for the attack that never took place.

And the Moskva didn’t sink — it was promoted to submarine.

after “libtard”, the use of the epithet “demoncrat” is the easiest way to identify the vocabulary-poor wingnut halfwit (and thanks for pointing out the flaw in the original comment, kacklin’ – much obliged)…

Why does the new Russian Navy have glass bottoms?

So they can see the old Russian Navy.

Are the idiot globalists (like Biden and Zelensky) ready to help negotiate peace, like they should have done before the war started? Probably not, they are all safe far from Ukraine.
