In our house, it wasn’t the laundry; it was the mending basket. If the girls had something they didn’t want to wear, they’d roll it up and stick it about midway into the mending, never to see the light of day again. It wasn’t out of style, but it didn’t fit any more.

Most of my clothes are 20+ years old and probably were not in fashion back then. Being retired has some pluses.
