No hiding this mess. And yes, your pleasure is coming to a quick end. Mrs. Dear will be quite unhappy with you and will have quite a bit to say about your actions, but this isn’t the first time or probably the last. Good thing they love you so much.
Oh my – I really wonder what else Fred’s gotten into in that cabinet. The open bottle with the pills is worrying! Our dearly departed Amanda once found nirvana when the tin of chocolate chips got knocked off the counter (it landed on the carpet, so we didn’t know it had come open!) Her bliss was also very short-lived; we called our vet just before they closed the doors for the day, then bundled her into the car and off we went to get her purged ASAP. It’s a good thing we did too; according to our vet, even the small amount she ate would have been enough to kill a dog her size!
I put child-proof latches on all of the lower cabinets at the last place, just to keep the dogs out. Haven’t needed them here, the cabinets are spring-loaded.

Well Fred, is it your problem for being a basset or you’re mom’s problem for forgetting you are a basset?

As if a dog ever considered that when food was available.

I blame Mrs Dear if she left the cupboards open at Fred’s level

Baby locks for the cupboard doors! But Fred might learn to undo them!
