My cat Raz insists on five solid minutes of “lovey dovey time” every morning. It consists of my giving her an expert cat massage, accompanied by murmurings of admiration and the occasional ear nibble. On good days, I sneak in the trimming of one claw.

My cats are not thrilled to get their claws trimmed, so I let the vet tech do it.
