Words are often the thought.

Personally I would see the humor in the situation, the brother will be there soon enough.

My younger brother sent me a birthday card that said, "Let’s grow old together. You first. "

send him one too with a 3-d boxing glove coming out to knock him to next week. :D

One of my favorite cards had a picture of the giant redwood trees, with text rhapsodizing about how very old they are. When I opened it, the inside text read, “Thank you for planting them.”

The thing is, I’m older than everyone with whom I’m on ‘exchanging-birthday-cards’ terms, so when I send a card mocking people for growing old, I always point out that I’m already ancient. Archaic. Obsolete. A la “If you were my age, you’d be depressed, too.”

I like the one that goes: You look like a MILLION dollars; Green & Wrinkled*!!!

A backhanded way to say Happy birthday~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ strange!!!

I once gave my wife a card that said “I wanted us to grow old together, but you went ahead without me.” Jokes on her. Sleeping on the couch is like camping.
