Looking at the history of Israel killing Palestinian civilians and then blaming the civilians, I am amazed at the assumptions that the Palestinians don’t want an investigation because they are lying about the murder being done by Israeli soldiers.
The Palestinians don’t want the Israelis to lead an investigation because of this history of lying, and the attack on Shireen Abu Akleh’s funeral procession. This would be like allowing the Repubs that supported the insurrection on 1/6 to be on the committee running the investigation.
There is video and history that supports the Palestinian version of the events. Read claytoonz.com for more details.
I read The Haj when younger. The author leaned toward the Israelis. They were industrious, worked hard to make the land profitable, etc. The Palestinian Arabs were… not. I agreed with the author. Read it again when older. Reminded me of indigenous peoples during colonization era.
After WWII, the Allies decided to divide the world into countries with borders chosen according to their preferences, rather than those of the locals. Hence, instead of what should have been Kurdistan, a homeland for Kurds, the Allies put 1/3 of them in Turkey, 1/3 in Syria, and 1/3 in Iraq, with no homeland at all.
Despite that, the Kurds have always supported US efforts in the Middle East, even after GHWB recommended they revolt and we’d have their backs. They revolted, we ignored it, and Saddam squashed them (“he’s killing his own people”). They supported us in our efforts against ISIS and Al-Qaeda, at least until they were abandoned by the Dotard.
The US supports Israel for two reasons: one is to please evangelicals who are trying to align events on earth to hurry up a rapture that they think will include them; the other is to have a safe military presence.
If we had made a Kurdistan, we would have the military advantage that Israel provides without having to support an apartheid regime. And it would be positioned geographically in a better place.
Anyone who thinks that the past doesn’t influence the present is fooling him/herself.
Ever noticed how killing members of the press is fairly prevalent in the workings of governments trying to oppress people but not the ones actually on the side of freedom? Even when the Patri-Nots claim they’re just like folks they are holding down? Now, which governments are really on which side? I mean that seems like a pretty clear cut way to tell. Which ones are for freedom and which ones beat, gas, and even kill members of the press? Bet we don’t hear a, while lot of well thought out responses from the ReThuglicans, the Russians, the hard core Zionists, and Saudi royal family hardliners, and others.
As Faisal with T.E. Lawrence in London after WW I told the Zionist leader, Arab and Jew are of one tribe, Semite, and brothers, therefore a two-state solution in Palestine after removal of the Ottomans, is the sensible thing, without fighting. Balfour and the Peel Commission agreed and drew up boundaries. The Zionist extremists, like Netanyahu today, have never accepted that viable truth.

Hunting down and killing members of the press. Of course MBS admires that kind of travesty. Putin does too.

So, is this ANOTHER example of “The Press is the enemy of the people”, as stated by TFG??

MBS wants to thank Israel for the spyware that he used to locate Khashoggi.

DeadFish the troll kinda ignores the Israeli security force beating mourners to the extent of making them almost drop her coffin. What a turd.
