Corporate Surveys: the company wants to show some good through all of the bad. They will single out the one good review and sweep the bad ones under the rug
Every year we do self-evaluations, and every year I would write some version of “Employee morale is in the toilet.” Crickets. Last year, I wrote “Some employees work much harder than others.” All of a sudden, the board of directors became VERY INTERESTED in what I had to say. They don’t care that employees aren’t happy, as long as ALL of them are working . . .
Company surveys, like self-evaluations are a waste of time in most situations. By the time it gets upstream it’s so watered down it’s useless. “This company is shite” becomes “This organization is filled with growing potential and is quite bullish”

My job would greatly improve if you fired Berle and never let him come back. Signed the staff.

Berle isn’t taking it seriously? No those seem like fairly honest and serious answers he’s given.

Employee surveys are what employers do to try to make their employees think administration cares what they think.
