Did the cartoonist unknowingly (or perhaps knowingly) make the insecure kid bully, look like Donald Trump?

Aww, all the big guy wants is to fit in with the rest of the kids. Give him a chance.

Aww the poor misunderstood bully. I don’t know what kind of sweet cotton candy world Greg grew up in, but when the bully grabs the front of your shirt and throws you against the lockers, it’s not because he can’t see you. When he grabs your books and scatters them all over the hallway, it’s not because he’s lonely at lunch.

Reminds of something that happened years ago at work. My boss at that time had advanced macular degeneration, but could still navigate perfectly in a well-lighted room, which this one was. As he walked by me, he thumped into me. Although he was a big guy, it didn’t hurt, but I felt it, and I actually said “Oof!” Because he didn’t say anything and I knew he wasn’t mad at me for anything, I took it as a playful “bump”. He was actually one of my two favorite bosses.

I have a feeling this could have a happy ending, after they talk it out.

If you look at the history of many of the mass shooters you find a lonely isolated boy.

So this is massively mirroring something that happened with my daughter (seven) at school the last several weeks. She’s been coming home and talking about a bully in her class, who’s constantly ruining playtime and seems to be targeting my daughter in particular. The daily updates she painted at dinner were of a demon child running amok and getting away with murder until this past Monday she said something that clicked with my wife and I. They were playing, V (the “bully”) tried to pull one of the kids away to a different part of the playground, my daughter stopped her, and V started sobbing saying that she (the girl she tried to pull away) was her only friend and that my daughter stole her.

I asked my daughter to speak to V next day when she saw her, and say “I’m sorry you don’t think you have any friends, if you want I’ll be your friend. We don’t want you to feel left out, come play with us.” My daughter duly did as she was asked (THAT’S A FIRST!) and now we have a playdate scheduled with the FORMER bully, who it turns out is super fun, and not mean any more.
