As a former teacher, I can tell you that the last week before the end of school was an exercise in futility, as far as trying to teach. Not only were the students anxious to get out, but so was I. Anyone who says that teachers don’t deserve a long summer vacation, has never taught in a public school.

Trying to get anything done at this point will be like holding a meeting at 3:00 on a Friday afternoon and expecting anyone to pay attention.

Nowadays, they check out before spring break, and don’t return. Thankfully, we had a late one this year.
