People who cry “too busy” are not my favs. Busy people get things done, take on tasks, that’s why they’re busy. Goof off: I’m too busy. Busy person: Just toss it on my desk.
It’s impossible for someone who complains about being busy to actually be busy because, as we all know, people love being given too many tasks to complete by someone else’s deadline with little to no chance of getting extra pay. It’s the funnest thing in the world.
This reminds me of callers who spend an inordinate amount of time explaining and repeatedly re-emphasizing why they are in such a rush to speak to someone, without giving me a chance to try to get that person on the line.
I’m complaining! This may be a slight tangent, but this reminds me a little of charities that hit me up for money by — wait for it — sending me a gift. Seriously, you have the money to get a bunch of tchotchkes together to send me, rather than spending it on whatever cause you’re supposedly supporting? Get outta here!
People who hit me up for money by sending me gifts to try and “obligate” me can’t be that hard up for money.

For some people the complaining is a calling.

I suppose ego-stroking does keep her far too busy to complain.

I’m so busy I don’t have time to read Nancy or leave comments.
