I would have chosen the red carpet too, but I doubt if the cats’ idea of what to do with that red carpet does not exactly match what this doggie and I think of as the “red carpet treatment.”

    Today is:

NATIONAL WINE DAY. Not for me. I don’t drink anything with alcohol.

NATIONAL BROWN-BAG-IT DAY. I brown bag it every day at work, but I’m on vacation now (I go back to work on Saturday), so I’ll forgo the brown bag today.

TOWEL DAY. I use a towel every day. I think we all do.

NATIONAL TAP DANCE DAY. I would be a very klutzy tap dancer. I’ll pass on this.

    NATIONAL MISSING CHILDREN’S DAY

NATIONAL SENIOR HEALTH & FITNESS DAY. I sometimes find it hard to accept or believe that I am a “senior”. At age 63 (I’ll turn 64 in August), I don’t feel any different or any older than I felt at 50. I hope that continues for many years to come.

I wasn’t happy last night that it took GC so long to update the comics because I was bursting to tell you that I saw a male red-breasted grosbeak while I was out at my garden yesterday. I had to use google to find out what kind of bird it was. At first, I thought it might be a downy woodpecker, but they have a red spot on their head and this one didn’t. He did have a red spot on his breast, though. I used google to look up Wisconsin birds, and that was the first bird whose picture popped up.

Mark get lots of birds out there at his place in the country, where I have my garden. I mostly see red-winged blackbirds, though, along with a few grackles and mourning doves and robins. I might have seen a blue jay (I have not seen one of those in a few years now), but it was too far away to be sure. And I heard a catbird, but couldn’t see it.

By the way, the garden is doing well so far. The potatoes, butternut squash, zucchini and the first crop of green beans are all growing well. I just planted the second planting of green beans a couple days ago, so they’re not up yet. I’ll plant the tomato plants out there on Friday. I have peas growing well in a raised bed in my yard, hoping that will keep the bunnies out.

It’s raining today. House cleaning day, I guess.

A red carpet would be nice. Might want to put out some newspapers too just in case. On another note, saw five robins, two butterflies, and a rabbit while out walking today.

I too miss MORE CATS pictures, but we can’t expect him to post them every day—remember he is retired now and presumably may have other things to do. I’m grateful for what he does send us and hope everything is OK with him.
