The Founding fathers made no mistake, in fact they saw this coming, at least John Adams did.

The problem with having a rational discussion is just like having a fair and free election: You could lose.

That’s why Republicans no longer concede when they lose an election and why they LIE about every issue.

Thanks to Fox News, Republicans no longer consider the Democrats to be Americans.

Hard to have a “rational discussion” when one side can’t accept objective reality, and keeps pushing nonsense like a stolen election.

Founders had the idealistic notion that enlightened self interest would rule. They didn’t foresee the appeal of authoritarianism to people who won’t benefit from being ruled by autocrats. You can’t make this stuff up.

H.L. Mencken foresaw Trump: “As democracy is perfected, the presidency represents more and more closely the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”

To be fair, Carmen: the founding fathers were kind of DOPES. They didn’t anticipate things EVER changing! Now we have obsolete articles that are glorified by an angry, uneducated minority! Great job, guys!
