You can just toss the food, if it’s dry, across a washable rug on the floor. It will spread out and the dog will have to move around to get it. Most dogs eat quickly, and some definitely need to get a special dish, or a bigger dish with rocks (too big to eat, and washed) among the kibble, or tossed on a rug. But if Buckles had any of those things, we wouldn’t read his thoughts or see how cute he looks! His ears today very expressive!
Mine’s a bottom feeder. If she makes a mess, she gets that for dessert. Nothing edible is ever on my floors, although if I drop food, she will wait for approval in case I plan to pick it up.
That’s also similar to a Calvin and Hobbes comic where Calvin imagines himself as a Tyrannosaurus Rex viciously dining on his prey, only to be admonished by his parents for his bad table manners.

Some dogs have to have special food dishes that slow down their rambunctious eating…..

My dog eats too fast, he should take Buckle’s lesson!

“Shreads.” Seems like newspaper comics have just as many errors as webcomics.
