What is unfair is not charging card users fees directly, but charging the store instead, making cash customers share their expense. Then they throw in the cash back schemes pitting one against the other.
…because they can
Carry cash! Some people use credit cards too freely on small purchases. They are best for big-ticket items, not a cup of coffee.
You’re learning, Claire.
Went to a store the other day. One could pay by cash, check, or credit card. The credit card price was 3.5% higher. Not the case in most places.
If you can’t pay the card off each month, or if the card charges fees, use cash and get rid of the card.
They’re passing on the fee that the card company charges them.
