They should know by now they can’t fool you, but you have to know that bath time comes to everyone sooner or later. It’s just part of life. To be able to be part of society, you can’t go around smelling like week old fish or the dump. Maybe a treat at the end? Or at least a stroll past Fifi’s house?
That’s the great thing about my Shilo. He may not enjoy a bath all that much but if I tell him to get into the bath he does so on his own and lets me bath him.
Bath time is not a major chore for you and the pet, if you know how to give a bath that is not stressful. It really makes a difference if both of you are calm.
I figure he’ll be fine with the bath, but like every single hound breed, clipping his nails will get him snapping at you quickly. Hounds absolutely hate having their paws touched and held.

Well Fred, it could be worse, at least the water is warmer than the river and you will smell nice for Fifi!

Rubber gloves, really? They’ll only fill up with dirty water.

Run Fred!

I can remember bathing our Scotty, Hazel. She’d just stand there in the tub glowering at us, God knows what revenge she was contemplating.

Instead of aprons we got into our swim trunks to bath the cat.
Gloves would have made our wounds less severe.

If you talked to your dog like that they would run away from you.

If you want Fifi to be anywhere around you you’d better suck it up and take it.

Nearest escape space. Longer legs and longer arms are occasionally helpful, as long as an escape space is available.
