Honestly, I don’t understand the whole “realities of marriage” and “marriage is work” thing. Or am I in the minority? We respect each other, share in the housework, we don’t manipulate each other or play mind games. None of this “he or she is in charge” or “no more nights out with friends because spouse won’t let me.” In my experience, the people giving this type of unsolicited advice are in terrible marriages themselves.

There’s plenty of good examples for him to follow in this strip!
