If you are making up your own, the next one in that sequence would be the gravy boat.

That’s a heck of a wide separation between the dippers. I’m beginning to suspect there’s three dippers.

If you think about it, they’re all made up.

The North Star is the only star I can see in the Little Dipper due to light pollution.

Look up in the sky, it’s a bird, it’s a plane, no, it’s Super Dipper. Probably a rapper from L A.

Monty, that’s cheating!

There is a big difference. He won’t be able to remember his new constellations from one time to the next. That is the important part that has been handed down for centuries.

Henceforth Monty went stargazing alone.

Right above it – and to the left – is the Little Flapjack.

I think he’s flipped. :)

To me it’s all one big constellation that I call The Big Glitter Spill

Took Astronomy in college. Had to point out (I forget how many) constellations for a final test. Easier to see them in a planetarium. The only one I had trouble with was Draco.

I suppose that’s how they all originated in far away yesterdays, Monty. But you making up your own, now, today, just look silly [which is the point, I suppose]….
