Not really addressing the cartoon, but I always wished the movie had gone along with the book’s ending where Dorothy really had been to Oz, and it wasn’t just a concussed dream.

Sequel to OZ: It’s 1943, and Dorothy works in Bridgeport, Connecticut producing weaponry for the war effort. She takes a couple weeks off, taking Toto with her, to visit her Aunt Em and the others in Kansas (including Ray Bolger). Another tornado, and she’s back in OZ, where all has gone to hëll. She finds and teams up with her three Oz companions. Seems the Axis are occupying Oz, and only the Wiz can save it, that is, if he can be found and brought back (He’s in a POW camp in Germany), and develop REAL magic powers. That’s as far as I’ve gone with this. Any questions?
