I use a block of scrap 2×4 when I go to the lumber yard.

Yeah, I always had one of those note pads in college, especially on test days.

I would sometimes show how to do a problem to a student that way.

Well I’ve gone to the hardware store with a list written on a scrap of 2×4.

I’ve written so much on my hands I’m sort of surprised I haven’t gotten some weird blood or skin disorder from the ink or magic markers. Pardon the pun, but sometimes my hand was the most, ahem, handy thing around to write on.

I use a steno pad – the 1st column for the outer aisles, the 2nd for the inner.

I use the back of my hand. I’m tattooed, so no one notices the writing on my hand(s).

When I still worked and had less time, I’d write a reminder for something important on my wrist. Someone commented on it once, and I replied “I lose pieces of paper; I’ve never lost either of my wrists”. (I’m kind of a dingbat, lol). Now that I have more time, I can make a proper list, though I still lose them. :-D

I’ll be 67 next month, but I’m a technology geek. Yeah, I use a shopping list app on my cell phone.
